About Dr. Steven Weiniger

Posture impacts how you move, breathe, balance, and live

I’m a chiropractor, posture educator, and the developer of the StrongPosture® protocol — a systematic, biomechanics-based approach to assessing, rehabilitating, and strengthening posture. I’m based outside Atlanta, Georgia, and I’ve trained thousands of practitioners worldwide to use it with their patients.
I view posture as a continuous interface between the nervous system’s predictive models and lived physical reality. Posture is observable, measurable, and an actionable key to whole person health.
In 2024, I was lead author of a perspective paper in Frontiers in Neuroscience that explored something I’d observed clinically for years: patients can’t accurately perceive their own alignment. That neurological blind spot — what we call Interoceptive Posture Awareness & Accuracy — may help explain whether biomechanical corrections last.
My work reaches people directly through books and courses, and indirectly through the clinicians I train. I also founded PostureMonth.org to bring public attention to how much posture matters for health, function, and quality of life.

What drives the work

I got into this because I kept seeing patients who had been told their pain was just something to manage — that their declining mobility was inevitable. I didn’t believe that, and the outcomes I was seeing in practice confirmed it.
The StrongPosture® protocol grew out of clinical necessity — I needed a systematic way to assess what was actually happening biomechanically, correct it in a logical progression, and give patients tools to maintain it on their own. The books, the certification, the courses — each of those came later, because practitioners and patients asked for them.
What keeps me going are the stories. The physician who took his first deep breath in years after one day of training. The practitioner who calls to say her patients have found hope again. And the ripple effect — every practitioner I train carries these protocols to their own patients. That reach is what fuels this.
I’m focused now on the neuroscience — understanding why posture awareness fails and how we can systematically improve it. I believe we’re at the beginning of something important, and I want to help build the evidence base that gets it taken seriously.
